Overview
Founded in 1993 by Jean Tran Thanh Van, the Rencontres du Vietnam Association is a non-profit organization and an official partner of UNESCO. Its mission is to promote international exchanges between Vietnam and the global community, particularly in the fields of science and education.
The association also aims to encourage and support Vietnamese scientists in integrating into the international scientific community, while enhancing the role of education and science by fostering scientific awareness and inspiring a passion for science among younger generations.
Rencontres du Vietnam is part of two series of scientific meetings founded by Jean Tran Thanh Van: Rencontres de Moriond (1966) and Rencontres de Blois (1989).
The establishment of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam) reflects an ambitious vision to advance science and education by strengthening exchanges between Asia-Pacific scientists and their counterparts worldwide.

“The Third International Symposium on Nano Life Science: Nano Biotechnology, Biophysics, and Computation (NanoBioCoM2025)”
September 17–19, 2025
ICISE, Quy Nhon, Vietnam
Conference Scope
Following the success of NanoBioCoM2023 and NanoBioCoM2024, NanoBioCoM2025 will continue with a strong focus on both fundamental and applied research in Nano Biotechnology, Biophysics, and Computation, addressing current challenges in life sciences.
The findings presented at this event will provide participants with clear insights into emerging approaches and research trends applicable across various areas of Nano Life Sciences. The symposium will take place at ICISE, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam.
Biophysics and Research Directions
Biophysics is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary field that integrates concepts and methodologies from physics and biology to investigate the physical aspects of biological systems.
Its primary objective is to understand the fundamental physical mechanisms governing the structure, function, and dynamics of biological molecules, cells, tissues, and organisms. Addressing discrepancies between single-molecule experiments and ensemble-averaged experiments is of critical importance in nano life sciences.
This symposium aims to introduce a wide range of modern experimental and computational approaches relevant to nano life sciences to help clarify these differences.
Research Areas in Vietnam
Vietnam, a developing country with a population of nearly 100 million, is actively advancing research programs in Nano Life Sciences, including:
- Nano Biotechnology: nanomedicine, biomolecular nanosystems, nanobiohybrids, nanoscale biostructures, nano-based biosensors, FRET, FLIM
- Biophysics: AFM, HS-AFM, FM-AFM, SICM, TEM, SEM, Cryo-ET, time-resolved Cryo-EM, NMR, and optical microscopy techniques (TIRFM, Confocal, STED, PALM, STORM)
- Computation & Deep Learning: Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations, coarse-grained mesoscopic simulations, Normal Mode Analysis (NMA), along with AI tools such as DeepAFM, CryoDRGN, RELION, CNNs, U-Net, DeepImageJ, Deep-STORM, etc.
The symposium will further stimulate these research activities by bringing together leading experts from Vietnam and around the world to deliver structured and in-depth lectures.
Format of the Symposium
The invited talks are designed to combine education and research:
- Part 1: Background and historical overview of the topic (at advanced postgraduate/professional level)
- Part 2: Presentation of the speaker’s own research within the field
In addition, the symposium will feature approximately 100 poster and short oral presentations from members of scientific communities such as:
- Vietnamese Biophysical Society
- Microscopy Society of Vietnam
- Vietnamese Physical Society
- Vietnamese Theoretical Physics Society
- Nano Life Science Community
Objectives
- Provide an interdisciplinary platform for presenting research findings
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and professional experience sharing
- Discuss the latest innovations, trends, and challenges
- Propose solutions to practical problems
- Build and expand multidisciplinary collaboration networks
Invitation
We cordially invite you to participate in NanoBioCoM2025 at ICISE, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh, from September 17–19, 2025.
ICISE is located near the sea and surrounded by mountains, approximately 6 km from Quy Nhon city center. The conference hall is equipped with a video projector, whiteboard, audio system, and wireless internet. The campus offers a peaceful and green environment with coconut trees and a beautiful coastline.
