Introduction

Founded in 1993 by Jean Tran Thanh Van, the Rencontres du Vietnam Association is a non-profit organization and an official partner of UNESCO. Its mission is to promote international exchange between Vietnam and the global community, particularly in the fields of science and education. It also aims to encourage and integrate Vietnamese scientists into the international scientific community, as well as to support the role of education and science by fostering scientific awareness and inspiring a passion for science among younger generations.

Rencontres du Vietnam is part of two renowned scientific meeting series created by Jean Tran Thanh Van: Rencontres de Moriond (1966) and Rencontres de Blois (1989).

ICISE – A Vision for Science and Education

The establishment of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon City (Central Vietnam) reflects an ambitious vision to advance science and education by fostering exchanges among scientists from the Asia-Pacific region and their counterparts from around the world.

The XIX Rencontres du Vietnam Scientific Conference

“The First International Conference on Nanobiological Science: Nanobiotechnology, Biosensors, and Computing (NanoBioCoM 2023)”
September 17–19, 2023
ICISE, Quy Nhon, Vietnam

The conference will primarily focus on both fundamental and applied research in nanobiotechnology, biosensors, and computational approaches to address current challenges in life sciences. The studies presented at this event will provide participants with valuable insights into emerging techniques and research trends that can be applied in the field of nanoscience.

This event will take place at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam.

Scientific Scope and Objectives

Bridging the gap between single-molecule experiments and ensemble-averaged experiments is of fundamental importance in nanobiological science. The objective of this workshop is to introduce a range of experimental and computational methods relevant to modern nanobiology that can help address these differences.

Vietnam, a developing country with nearly 100 million people, is actively developing research programs in nanobiological science, including:

  • Nanobiotechnology (HS-AFM, FM-AFM, SICM)
  • Biosensors (colorimetric, thermal, chemical)
  • Deep learning approaches

This conference aims to further stimulate these research programs by inviting experts from Vietnam and across Asia to deliver structured lectures on nanobiological topics.

The computational methods presented will range from coarse-grained simulations to molecular dynamics approaches. Keynote and invited speakers will structure their presentations to provide both educational content and research insights.

  • The first half of each lecture will cover foundational concepts and historical background (graduate-level / advanced level).
  • The second half will focus on the speaker’s research within the context of the field.

Key Topics

  • Nanobiotechnology
  • Biosensors
  • Computation

Symposium Format

The workshop will include a variety of formats:

  • Opening ceremony
  • Plenary and keynote lectures
  • Invited talks
  • Oral and poster presentations in parallel sessions:
    • Nanobiotechnology
    • Biosensors
    • Computation

Poster sessions will be displayed throughout the workshop.

Additionally, roundtable discussions and excursions will provide opportunities for networking and discovering the beauty of Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam.

Official Language

English is the official language of the workshop.
