Overview

Founded in 1993 by Jean Tran Thanh Van, the Rencontres du Vietnam Association is a non-profit organization and an official partner of UNESCO. Its mission is to promote international exchanges between Vietnam and the global community, particularly in the fields of science and education.

The association also aims to encourage and support Vietnamese scientists in integrating into the international scientific community, while enhancing the role of education and science by fostering scientific awareness and inspiring a passion for science among younger generations.

Rencontres du Vietnam is part of two series of scientific meetings founded by Jean Tran Thanh Van: Rencontres de Moriond (1966) and Rencontres de Blois (1989).

The establishment of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon (Central Vietnam) reflects an ambitious vision to promote the development of science and education by strengthening exchanges between Asia-Pacific scientists and their counterparts worldwide.

“The Second International Symposium on Nano Life Science: Nano Biotechnology, Biophysics, and Computation (NanoBioCoM2024)”

September 25–27, 2024
ICISE, Quy Nhon, Vietnam

Conference Overview

Following the success of NanoBioCoM2023 (September 17–19, 2023), NanoBioCoM2024 will continue with a primary focus on both fundamental and applied research in Nano Biotechnology, Biophysics, and Computation, addressing current challenges in life sciences.

The studies presented at this event will provide participants with valuable insights into new techniques and research trends that can be applied in the field of Nano Life Sciences. The symposium will continue to be held at ICISE, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam.

Scientific Content

Biophysics is an interdisciplinary field that integrates principles and methods from physics and biology to study the physical aspects of biological systems. Its main objective is to understand the physical mechanisms governing the structure, dynamics, function, and behavior of biological molecules, cells, tissues, and organisms.

Resolving the differences between single-molecule experiments and ensemble-averaged experiments is of fundamental importance in nano life sciences. This symposium aims to introduce a wide range of modern experimental and computational methods to address these differences.

Vietnam, with a population of nearly 100 million, is actively developing research programs in Nano Life Sciences, including:

  • Nano Biotechnology: nanomedicine, HS-AFM, FM-AFM, SICM
  • Biophysics: biomolecular nanosystems, nanobiohybrids, nanoscale biostructures, nano-based biosensors
  • Computation & Deep Learning: Artificial Intelligence (AI) in biology

The symposium will further stimulate these research areas by inviting experts from Vietnam and around the world to deliver in-depth presentations. Computational approaches will range from coarse-grained simulations to molecular dynamics methods.

Format of the Symposium

The invited lectures are structured to combine education and research:

  • Part 1: Background and historical overview of the topic (advanced postgraduate/professional level)
  • Part 2: Presentation of the speaker’s own research

In addition, the symposium will feature approximately 100 poster and short oral presentations from the Vietnamese biophysics and nano life science community.

Objectives

  • Provide an interdisciplinary platform for presenting research results
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange and experience sharing
  • Discuss the latest innovations, trends, and challenges in the field
  • Build and expand multidisciplinary collaboration networks

Invitation

We cordially invite you to attend NanoBioCoM2024 at ICISE, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh from September 25–27, 2024.

ICISE is located near the sea and surrounded by mountains, approximately 6 km from Quy Nhon city center. The conference hall is equipped with a projector, whiteboard, audio system, and wireless connection. The campus offers a peaceful and green environment with coconut trees and a beautiful beach.
