Become a Member

The Vietnamese Biophysical Society (VBS) aims to promote the development and dissemination of knowledge in the field of biophysics. Membership is open to scientists who share the Society’s mission and have experience or interest in physics, biology, or related scientific fields.

The Society strives to build an open community for sharing, exchange, and comprehensive collaboration, with the goal of introducing and honoring outstanding achievements and advances in biophysics.

 

Regular Membership

Regular membership is open to Vietnamese individuals engaged in research or teaching related to biophysics, both domestically and internationally; as well as foreign scientists working and conducting research or teaching in biophysics who have been living and working in Vietnam for more than one year.

All applicants are required to submit a membership application to the VBS using the prescribed form and provide a scientific curriculum vitae in the required format. Individuals who meet the above criteria must register as regular members and pay the annual membership fee. Only regular members are eligible to be nominated or to self-nominate for positions on the Society’s Executive Committee and have voting rights.

The annual fee for regular membership is 240,000 VND (or USD 10).

Student Membership

Student membership is open to all individuals who are currently high school students, undergraduate students, or graduate students and who meet the criteria and objectives of the VBS. Student members enjoy the same benefits as regular members.

However, this category of membership does not have voting rights and is not eligible to nominate, be nominated, or run for positions on the Executive Committee. Students who wish to become student members must register and pay the annual membership fee.

The annual fee for student membership is 120,000 VND (or USD 5).

Institutional Membership

Institutional membership is open to universities, research institutes, companies, and other organizations, both domestic and international, that support and share the objectives of the VBS. Institutional members enjoy the same benefits as regular members.

However, this category of membership does not have voting rights and is not eligible to nominate, be nominated, or run for positions on the Executive Committee. Organizations wishing to become institutional members must register and pay the annual membership fee.

The annual fee for institutional membership is 240,000 VND (or USD 10).

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate membership is open to individuals and organizations, both domestic and international, regardless of age, gender, profession, nationality, or religion. Any individual or organization that wishes to become a member and meets the criteria and objectives of the VBS is eligible to apply.

Affiliate members enjoy the same benefits as regular members. However, this category does not have voting rights and is not eligible to nominate, be nominated, or run for positions on the Executive Committee. All individuals and organizations wishing to become affiliate members must register and pay the annual membership fee.

The annual fee for affiliate membership is 240,000 VND (or USD 10).

Honorary and Distinguished Membership

Honorary and Distinguished membership is granted to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of biophysics. These members are nominated by the Society’s Executive Committee. Members in this category enjoy the same benefits as regular members and are exempt from paying the annual membership fee.

  • Be officially recognized, receive a membership badge, and a certificate of membership;
  • Participate in the Society’s annual general meetings;
  • Be eligible to nominate, be nominated, and vote for positions such as Co-Presidents, Vice Presidents, and members of the Executive Committee;
  • Be considered for discounted or waived registration fees for conferences and scientific workshops organized or co-organized by the Society;
  • Receive monthly/quarterly updates from the Society and its partners;
  • Participate in programs, projects, events, and awards organized by the Society;
  • Be considered and recommended as a representative of the Society to attend conferences, workshops, training courses, and related events both domestically and internationally;
  • Members appointed as official representatives may receive support for travel and accommodation expenses in accordance with the Society’s regulations;
  • Be eligible to be nominated or apply for recognition and annual outstanding scientific awards;

Members with active and outstanding contributions to the Society’s activities and development will be considered for recognition at the annual general meetings.

Membership Renewal

The annual membership renewal fee for the VBS is currently 240,000 VND (or USD 10). For students, the fee is 120,000 VND (or USD 5). Membership fees must be paid to the official account of the Vietnamese Biophysical Society.

How to Become a Member

Please register and use our official application form or send your application to the office of the VBS. After submission, if your application is approved, your membership will be formally granted by the Council of the VBS.
