We are pleased to announce the 2027 Special Issue of Biophysical Reviews: Vietnam Biophysics—Current Status, Challenges, and Future Opportunities. This Special Issue aims to showcase the dynamic and rapidly evolving biophysics landscape in Vietnam, while highlighting the growing contributions of Vietnamese researchers to the global biophysics community. The vision of this Special Issue is to present transformative advances, emerging research directions, and interdisciplinary innovations in biophysics, with particular emphasis on the integration of biophysical approaches with medicine, agriculture, food and environmental science and technologies. By bringing together both established and emerging voices, this collection seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of current research activities as well as a forward-looking perspective on future developments in Vietnamese biophysics. We invite “Review or Comment Articles” addressing (but not limited to) the following core thematic areas: Proposed Topics 1. Structural and Molecular Biophysics 2. Computational Biophysics and AI-Driven Modeling 3. Biophotonics, Biosensors, Imaging Biophysics, and Computer Vision 4. Nanobiophysics 5. Biophysics of Infectious Diseases, Environment, Foods, Medicine, and Agriculture 6. Artificial Intelligence and Data-Driven Biophysics This Special Issue welcomes contributions that emphasize methodological innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and translational impact, as well as studies that bridge experimental, computational, and data-driven approaches in modern biophysics.
